Diego Carvajal - Musical Director and founder

The Hit Music Studio opened its doors in Pembroke Pines in 2007, and to celebrate our 10 years in business we decided to open a second location in Davie. We now supply great music lessons to the towns of Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Davie, Sunrise, Plantation and Weston.

The Hit Music Studio's mission is to better our students' self-esteem through music. This mission has given birth to a variety of opportunities and programs that allow our students to have a positive experience while putting their music skills to the test. These opportunities include our instrument lessons, Live Ensembles, Stage Access bands, Teacher's Showcase recitals and the Play with the Pro's concerts.

I am from Costa Rica and started playing when I was 12 years old with several great private instructors. Later in my life, I had the opportunity to move to Florida to pursue a degree in Jazz Piano Performance from Florida International University. After completing my degree, and making a living performing with different artists, I found that my true vocation in life was teaching music to kids.

Before founding our first location, I had the opportunity to teach at the Miami-Dade Community College and for the City of Pembroke Pines. Those years of teaching led me to see a need for a music school that had a very different approach as most music schools use methods that are out of date and mostly designed to learn classical music.

I have been honored to play piano for some of my idols such as Ricardo Montaner, Nito Mestre, Vilma Palma, Braulio and Alejandra Guzman. Additionally, I have performed everywhere from private parties in backyards, to sold out arenas like Madison Square Garden and the American Airlines Arena during the Latin Grammys.

At The Hit Music Studio I teach piano, guitar and bass.

My main goal at The Hit Music Studio is not only to make our lessons and programs exciting, but also to have our students leave every class and performance with a positive effect on their self-esteem. If our students learn a new music skill, while at the same time bettering their sense of self-worth, we can not only make them better musicians, but better human beings.
